This album by Adele is such a great album. Before this album, I really didn't follow her. However, I do know she won the Grammy for Best New Artist in 2010. Meanwhile, many people on my twitter timeline talked about her and how soulful she was. Time moved forward, about 2 weeks ago one of my twitter followers was talking about how he heard this album, he reviewed it as "soulful as soul can get". As a music lover, I had to take notice. When I got home from work, I reviewed her album, I fell in love with it starting with the track of "Rolling In The Deep". This song gives you the Motown toe-tapping sound, where Motown was well know for. From that song, I realized that I had to buy this album. Finally, the album comes out, the song I couldn't get pass was the second track, the Ryan Tedder produced "Rumour Has It", which also gives a Motown feel. On this track, she gives a Dusty Springfield feel. I listened to this song about 90 mins straight. Finally after passing "Rumour Has It", songs like "Turning Tables", "Do You Remember", and "Set Fire To The Rain", gives you an impression that she has been hurt, which makes these songs come off so much better. The soul in her voice from these songs are unmatched. But the song, that I feel she really shines on is "Take It All". On this song, she really takes on a ride with the vocals. She gets me every time when she sings "take it all with my love". With this track, she shows the power of her voice. People try to compare her with Joss Stone, but in my opinion she can be compared more with Amy Winehouse. Joss Stone is more bluesy and she more of that soul-pop like Amy. Nevertheless, that takes nothing from this album. I feel that this album is the best out right now, because it's real music. She definitely deserved to be in the #1 position on the Billboard 200, because with this album she crossed all racial groups. Well Done Adele....
Great review bro!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite album at the moment, It's good to see REAL music getting so much praise and selling records.
Rumor Has It is definitely infectious and a fun track.
Thanks so much for your review!!!
ReplyDeleteThis album was AMAZING. It's always interesting how people you just happen to run across can leave you speechless after listening to the album. The instrumentals took me back to my band days.
